Shawn Boutot, Founder - Alaris Group

Shawn is a graduate from the University of Maine with a BS degree in Sociology. Shawn Boutot served as a Special Agent for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) through May 2014. Duties included investigating money laundering, commercial fraud, narcotic smuggling, worksite enforcement, child pornography as well as covert and overt cyber intellectual property rights. Shawn is a graduate of the elite Federal Law Enforcement Academy in Brunswick, Georgia.  Shawn took inspiration from his wife’s long career in healthcare risk management, specifically with the VA, as well as his own experience as a federal investigator in the founding of Alaris Group.

David Grootwassink, General Manager / Cybersecurity and HIPAA Practice

David Grootwassink (BSCS, MBA, PMP) has over 30 years of experience in communications technologies, security, and identity management.   He started spending 6 years out as an Air Force officer involved in signals intelligence and electronic warfare; functionally red team for keeps on a global basis.   Among the many awards received during his service, the most important was being decorated as the “Outstanding Contributor to Tactical Air Intelligence” during operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

After leaving the service, David led several identity management projects utilizing various forms of biometric identification.

Shifting into the communications industry he has developed many products for communications companies such as GTE, BellSouth International, and Illuminet.    Finally melding communications and security together in both a blue team and red team stance for VeriSign and Yaana Technologies where the focus became communications security, interception, and intelligence support.

David currently holds 10 patents in the areas of communications and communications security.

David Johnston, Director of Threat Intelligence
A former senior commander at Scotland Yard, David has extensive experience of crisis management and the management of complex and sensitive investigations. As the lead for Economic Crime at Scotland Yard, David provided strong leadership and strategic advice to governments and large financial institutions to manage the implementation and understanding of AML policy and compliance. David is a seasoned senior leader with considerable experience in national security and public private sector negotiating and capability building transnationally. In addition, David was a senior leader in GCHQ, the British equivalency of the United States NSA. He developed cross agency teams to provide technical operational services and policy advice on countering terrorism, interception of communications, and national security operations across the intelligence and law enforcement agencies of the UK. In 2008 David was awarded the Queens Police Medal by Her Majesty the Queen for outstanding contributions to UK policing and National Security. David holds a master’s degree in public administration, a post graduate diploma in criminology from Cambridge University and an HND in electrical engineering. Most recently, David has been occupied in setting up cyber and technology start-ups in the UK, building effective teams and developing marketing and sales strategies to increase market share and global recognition.
Chris Bridges, Customer Experience Manager

Chris Bridges earned his BA degree from the University of Tennessee and his master’s degree in Christian Education from Southern Seminary. Chris worked in educational ministry for close to 20 years, leading large ministries of volunteers and staff. In addition to his commitment to the church, Chris has always been an entrepreneur at heart, owning and managing multiple successful businesses during his career. Chris also has experience in project management, creative concept design, and logistics. He enjoys working with and helping people, such as training and cultivating leadership.

Dr. Tim Petito (OD, FAAO, DNAP), Medical Advisor

Dr. Timothy Petito obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and earned a Doctorate of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, after which he completed a residency in Pediatric Vision and Vision Training. He then became an assistant professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) and Co-Chief of the Primary Care Services and Chief of the Strabismus and Amblyopia Clinic at the SUNY Optometric Center of New York in New York City. He also worked as a research scientist at Columbia Univers.ity in New York City and staff optometrist at the New York Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr. Petito is an internationally known author and lecturer on various topics relating to ocular care. He has published several books and numerous articles in national publications and continues to serve in editorial positions. He has been the American Optometric Association’s primary representative to the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement of the American Medical Association since 2009, and has served on the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement’s Screening and Preventative Care Workgroup since 2008. He was inducted into the National Academy of Practice in 2009. He has been in practice in St. Petersburg, Florida, since 1989.
